Camaro Convertible Still In The Works

There have been some rumors that the new Camaro convertible was on its way out, with GM’s financial troubles many thought that it’d be cancelled or delayed inevitably. GM however, has announced that the ‘vert is still in the works, and that it should be ready by Q1 2011. This would make it most likely a 2012 model year Camaro.
As reported on MotorTrend, the initial worry over the demise of the Camaro Convertible was because of the German convertible top suppliers financial problems. The good news is that word is the German company is still in business and plans to move forward with the Camaro after meeting an agreement with GM.
Unfortunetaly, the same good news can’t be shared about the 2010 Camaro Z28. With GM’s current money situation and the pressure by everyone to “go green”, the Z28 is most likely going to feel the pain of the current green-wave. We hope to see the Z28 sometime in the near future but as it is right now, it’s quite doubtful we’ll see it in the next couple of years.
