Camaro or Challenger
What is your choice out of these 2 retro-icons coming back.
It's hard to say what performance options each will have, and also hard to judge pricing, but if history repeats itself the Challenger will most likely be a bit more expensive than the Camaro. Since we won't really know what each car will have for a while you can base this on just looks if you'd like, or looks and what you think the performance/pricing will be.
So if you had the money, which would you buy as of now?

Re: Camaro or Challenger
I'd say the Challenger is the more popular one from what I've seen around here and other places, but I have to go with the Camaro. Not only am I not a huge fan of Mopars/DC, I think the Challenger is "too retrostyled" for me. I like the looks of the old cars, but I would like something with more new ideas than the Challenger has.
I also am more trustworthy of a GM performance car than a DC one. Either way, it will be cool to see both of these monsters on the road within 2 years

Re: Camaro or Challenger
As per bodystyle, I think the Challenger wins by far. The dodge design team hit one out of the park as per consumer ideas on what a 'new-old' car should look like.

Re: Camaro or Challenger
I'm speechless on the two prior responses. But yea, I liek the challenger styling more. It's focused. They said "Lets remake the challenger." And they did. GM however has so many generations of camaro their artist obviously got confused and mixed every gen of 'maro in there and gave it a Vette ass. It looks hobbled together and unfocused. Is it a retro of a 2nd gen? 3rd gen? No look at the lights it has to be 1st gen... right? No the nose is pointed like an arrow, 2nd gen! You can't tell man.
I mean come on, the mustang looks better than the new camaro.
Challenger as far as looks.
Now on the handling and hauling portion. I think GMs gonna drop the ball here. The Chally will be poised to replace the viper, possibly. But either way it will have the highest output hemi available. 400+hp. What will gm do? Probalby the LS2 and cripple it with a curweight of over 4000lbs. They need to have a target weight with all fluids save for gas of 3600 or lower. It's easy to do, it can be done and GM needs this victory on the performance side of things to prove to people that they are gonna support the late model rodders by giving the best starting point.

I'd say is 75% based on the 1st gen camaro. The pointed front end is on the 1st generations, it just isn't quite as pronounced as it is in the concept. The lights are obviously marked after a 1st gen, and I wouldn't be suprised to see the horizontal slits in a stock appearance package like the old RS's used to have.
They say it's a mix of the 1st generation camaro, and a F-22 fighter. Also, the Zeta is actually light in comparison to the current Australian platform that the Holdens and GTO's are based off of, so it won't be more than 3800lbs, my guess is 3650 or so fully loaded, and 3500 bare base model.
I can't get into the current design of the mustang, and unless it goes over some drastic new designs up front, it will always look like its sobbing or sad for some reason to me.
I think the Camaro will come out with a nice bang in the Performance Department. If one thing that GM has been starting to do, it is realize that is what most of their icon cars have to be. Note the Z06 and it's current chassis and engine combo. I'd say the SS Camaro will be right up there with the "Hemi" (I use quotes for a reason) Challenger.
