Default Production Camaro details coming on July 22nd

Filed under: Car Buying, Coupes, Chevrolet

Click above for a high-res gallery of the Chevy Camaro concept.

We're admittedly tiring of the Camaro hype machine, but we can't fault the fanboys at 5thgen.org for keeping their pot of excitement on boil. The site threw up a countdown to the announcement of the production Camaro on July 22nd, which apparently will be held at all domestic Chevrolet dealers through a two-hour satellite broadcast. Retailers will be given all the details on the Camaro at that time and according to a source, "real orders for real cars" will begin being accepted.

because a over head cam motor can rev faster higher, more fuel efficent (less friction) no pushrods worring about bending more tunability more modern, and a overhead cam cylinder head have more potential to flow better because there's more room to design the ports because the dont need to leave room for the pushrod in mind

^ and they make peek power at the 6000+ rpm range and do not produce the TQ curve that an pushrod LSx based motor does. OHC and DOHC motors belong in imports. I make my peek power 2000 rpms sooner and start peek TQ at 3500 rpms and hold that. Not many DOHC motors will do that N/A, they need FI to make any legit power.

Remind me again why a brand new Mustang gets its butt spanked by 7-year old LS1s again?

Pretty sad that Ford has had the better part of 11 years to make a Shitstang that can beat a 1998 Fbody, but they have yet to do so.
