What he said.

After you get the bolt-on's out of the way, you can really get into making her fast

I'm in about the same situation. I have a K&N filter and 3" cat-back flowmaster system.
I was told my car was "chipped".
So what will happen if I start changing things? Like a different M.A.F.? or a recalibrator box?
Shouldn't a "chip" take care of most of those things?

If I were you, i'd go about finding out how to remove the 'chip' and make it stock. Chips or cheap programmers do nothing but hurt your motor. You have no idea what kind of setup that chip is running. I've preached many a time about these things, all they do is make your engine run lean (of course you gain a few hp) but, your liable to blow the thing up very quickly as soon as you add mods. (the chips are always based around a stock motor)

Yep, friend of a friend just had his engine go out on him because he bought it with a chip installed, then he put a cam in it.

Well if you bought it from a private seller you can call the person back and ask, if you bought it from a dealership don't bother calling though you probably won't get a straight answer.

Yeah, those dealers don't really care, they just try to get the thing cleaned up and ready to sell. They could care less if it dies on you in 6 months... hm, i think i was just thinking out loud here... lol
