Hello all, I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could help me with some problems I have with my 1995 Formula.
1st. My battery indicator on the gauge cluster has been fluctuating violently (just started) causing the engine idle to go down. My first reaction was the alternator. I brought the battery and alternator to be tested and both came up as being fine. What would be causing such a big drop? The needle then goes back up to normal. Then it goes down again. The check gauges light keeps coming on also. Guy at the auto parts store mentioned Control Module. I didn't purchase anything yet. 2nd. On cold start-ups about 3 minutes into driving, I have a loss of power and the car putters and semi-backfires. Then, once this passes, the engine seems to be fine. But everyday about 3 minutes into driving, like it's timed, the same exact thing happens. Like it's running on 4 cylinders and I can't go anywhere although I am stepping on the pedal. Has anyone experienced these symptoms where they can give me some advice on what they did to fix them? I plan on having the car hooked up to a scanner as my service engine light comes on at random intervals also. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Jeff Email address is Hotwheels68442@aol.com |
