Yeah I'm new and know very little.
Last time I had a Camaro they came with 327's .
Now i have a '96 base convertible to tinker with and ride around with the top down (cant ride motorcycles any more)
She's a 3.8 v6 auto,
not all the same color ,
door locks, power mirrors, cruse, and A/C all don't work .
But she runs and drives very well, and shes all mine

I bought an almost useful Haynes manual and it seems that the electrics all changed in '96.
all the door locks, trunk lock, remote entry, alarm stuff is in "modules"

Is there info available on where these modules are located?
also i was going to buy a donor car, is it true that i cant use '94-95's
and if so '96 thru ??

It is true that for engine related (and some electrical) that a 93-95 wont work. They had 3.4L's, (besides a select few Cali 3.8L's in 95, but they're very rare).

I'm not sure about the modules, but I'm sure someone else can help you.


My cruise control just went on my 1995 a couple months ago. All it was was the little plastic switch connected to my brake pedal. Cost about 4 bucks, and 5 minutes to install. You can try something like that before looking at more costly problems for the cruise. I can't remember for the life of me what the parts name is, but its a light plastic piece that cuts off the cruise control.

Yeah, I thought I would start with checking switches, relays, contact, & fuses.
Then on to wiring.
It' shows all these "Modules", like "Body Control Module" ETC.
And I like to know where a wire is running to when I'm checking
