Good Exhaust
I am a big Flowmaster person. I love the sound. Can any one tell me which one sounds better and has the better performance, the 40 or 80 series? Has any one else run a different system that sounds good and performs good as well. I am looking at just the muffler or maybe the cat back system.

It just lost my reply so im not going to retype all of that, but pretty much... my personal prefference is Borla or SLP Loudmouth. Otherwise, if only Flowmaster is the choice, 80 series.

why flowmaster? The name is not true, they actually flow like crap compared to other systems. If it is just the muffler you are wanting, get the racr ready 10 series...LOUD !!!

I'm a bit bias, but I like the Edelbrock SDT muffler (#55754) on my 93 Z28. I don't care for duals so this single 3" muffler is perfect for me. IMO it sounds awsome, and the muffler and tailpipe are tucked up so you can't see it from behind the car. The car had a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on it when I bought it, but it sounded raspy when you stand on it so it had to go.

Bone stock flowmasters are quieter than stock to an extent. If you want loud buy a TSP rumbler, if you want mellow with a deep rumble try magnaflow or corsa. Either way your getting more HP than a blowmaster.

Yeah stay away from Flowmaster, they have a bad reputation about rusting out.
