Default Heater Hose problems

I have a 1997 Camaro with 3.8L . The heater hoses on this car have quick connect fittings that connect to the base of the idler tensioner. The outer clip on the hose got brittle and broke and now the hose wont remain in the connection. Is there a fix for this other than buying a new hose which is not available due to GM having them on backorder. I have been told by the dealerships that there are no replacements available withing the US. I need a fix, HELP
