Default rims and tire sizes how big without rubbing???

i was wondering how wide of rim/tire setup will actually fit on my 94 bird. i would like to get 18"z06 rims with a good wide tire (the skinny rim/tires on the back bug the hell out of me) but ive seen 9.5 and 11. wouldnt 11 be too wide? would 9.5 with 285 tires be alright on the back and not rub? just curious, any help?

i found a package on ebay with 18x9.5 for front, and 18x10.5 for back. 245/40's front, and 275/40's for back. u guys think that would fit and not rub or anything?

I'm not sure about the 40s on the front, I think it would rub if you turn sharply and going over a bump.. you will probably hear a little rub.

Stock unmodified 4th gen can run 275/40/18's on the front without problems, pending the offset is made for a 4th gen. Rears will run 315/45/18's (I have heard of occasional problems for the rears) depends on the car.

I run 275/45/17 and 315/45/17's all day long with an Eibach Pro-Kit.

Just get yourself an adjustable panhard bar to square up your rear and you can run 11" wide rear tires no problem. After folding the fenders, and maybe a little BFHing.
