Default SLOOOO window!!!!!

Hi guys,
I'm new here and hope you guys (and gals) may be able to give me some help.
I'm workin' on a buddy's 02' Z/28 and the problem is one I'm sure some of you have had. The drivers side window goes down REALLY slow and when you try to put it up it willgo for about an inch if at all and then stop...if you hit it again....still nothin'.Helpin' it doesn't work either. It acts like it's not getting enough power. My 80 Z was just plain SLOW and I took the motor and all the tracks apart and applied some blue GM silicone grease and holy moses they are awsome now... SUPER fast...but also ahuge pain in the %#* ! so I thought I'd ask before I start drillin' out rivets.
Thanks,
Dave

Passenger Window Express Down Mod - 4th Gen F-Body

Should be the same fix for driver's side window as well

Sounds like it might be a dead motor. My '02 WS6's driver side motor died before I even got it to 30,000 miles. It would roll down fine, and then roll up about two inches at a time.

Motor is toast, time to replace. One of the big things that can kill a motor is when you operate BOTH windows at the same time. Don't do that. If you must roll them both down only do one side at a time.

x2, also heard that to increase battery life it's best to turn off the AC/Heat and radio when you turn off the car so that way it's just 2 less things the battery has to power when starting up. Dunno if this is true or not, but it's a 2 second process

It happens to us all. The window motor is a common problem, I cant count the times i've done that now. Even with my electronics modded I cant find a good window switch that regulates the current correctly. NEVER use both windows at the same time, the motors get so hot they actually melt the plastic that covers the door under the door panel occasionally.

Same problem here.
The driver's side window actually seems to get better & better.
The passenger side however....
Nope, fresh grease didn't help a bit.

All of the fbody regulators have this issue. Not just the TA's.
