Here's the only vid I could find of loudmouth 2 on a V6. Low revs though.

Here's loudmouth 2 on a V8, sounds about the same to me from the outside. Inside seems quieter, but then again my ear aren't what they used to be.

thanks again. do you know if there is any perfomance diffrence between the 2?

under Product Info on marylandspeed.com for the loudmouth exhaust it says:

'Along with the included race muffler, the F-Body Loud Mouth system is compatible with our original Loud Mouth II bullet-type race muffler (#31067). Get both for complete control over your car's sound and performance characteristics.'

does this mean u can put the Loudmouth 2 muffler on the loudmouth1 system and it will sound like a loudmouth 2?

Well I'm not 100% sure, but the muffler should be the real difference maker in the sound since the piping and everything else on the kit would be the same, and the LM2 is compatible with the LM1 resonator. So I would think the only difference between the two would be the muffler, but I could be wrong.

Also, if there is any power difference between the two it'd be a VERY small difference probably, like 2 rwhp, and that'd probably be on the top end. Atleast thats my theory, I know for sure that Phate can shed more light on this once he has the time to pop in.

There should be little to no hp difference between the two mufflers. Both kits should be identical when it comes to piping. You should just choose the one that has the best sound for you. And yes, unless you dynomat the car, it gets pretty loud inside; especially on long trips.

There are differences in HorsePower on the V6 Exhaust after you get into serious horsepower modifications.

To Star these motors do like backpressure!

RKSport used to sell headers for the 3.8 V6, not sure if they still do.
PaceSetter headers can be picked up cheap on ebay. Save some trouble and get the coated ones.
There is a company in Texas (Force Fed Fabrications) that's currently making long tube headeres for the V6 - if you want to change the way a car sounds, that's the best place to start.

Based on my experience and opion: (Cat-backs)
Borla sounds the best, but is pricey.
The LS1 Flowmaster sounds second the best. The air flow isn't great but you don't really have to worry about that unless you're FI V6. (har har)
I settled on an LT1 Magnaflow catback as the last system actually purchased because the air flow was really good for the money.

Here it's worth mentioning that the LT1 setups usally come with the "S" bend you other wise need to purchase (or make) in order for the LS1 catback to work.

All and all, a V6 is still going to sound like V6.

I finally settled for a $100 exhaust setup which includes PaceSetter Headers w/ "Split Y" - found at Crazy Rays Junk Yard - ($25), two bullet mufflers ($25), and two 26" long 2.5" pipes which dump on the passengerside, right infront of the rear wheel. Sounds like crap, but the air leaves the car right quick... and its still kinda/sorta "street legal".

Wow $100 bucks, those are some good finds, especially the headers.

Have you procharged it yet??? Or is that next.

Here's the best I have on it. This is just after we finished putting the car together, so I couldn't get on it.
