Default Flowmaster Muffler

Hey guys, I know that the 80 series "fits" a firebird.

But my buddy just took a 50 series off his Chevy and wants to sell it to me. Right now i do not have dual exhaust but with this i could. The muffler on the firebird is "sideways" im sure you know. and with this one i would not be able to run it this way, i would have to cut the pipe closer to the engine and run it straight back from there. I guess a custom exhaust.

He wants $100 bucks for it. its practically brand new. You think i should do it? would it give me a better sound? or muffle it more?

It sounds like it would be no different, except it would be a 1 in 1 out instead of 1 in 2 out. No difference in sound. Save your $.

Yeah stay away from Flowmaster. Their stuff tends to rust out fairly quick.

I had a Flowmaster 40 series Dual exhaust on my Sierra and it rusted out at the welds....They do have a 10 year warranty on their exhausts, but still, I'd search for better.

I agree with this statement, before I knew any better I thought Flowmaster was the exhaust of choice. The one on my 86 isn't even a year old and its rusted. 300 bucks for a cat back system down the tube when I could have spent an extra 150 and had stainless steel pipes. The american thunder system does sound good though on it though.
