i want to get a ram air kit like SLP or FTRA and i'm going to get a suncoast creations ram air hood (raptor) but had a question before i go and spend money.

whats the point of having a functional ram air hood if u have a lid on your ram air system? cuase wouldnt the lid block the vents(openings) from the hood, so would it just be better to have no lid? like the pic.

the ram air hood actually forces air up and under the lid, when you lower the hood on a ws6 the two ram air vents line up with the gap under the lid

so, would u make more HP if there wasn't a lid or would that just make the filter more dirty quicker?

i don't think it would make a difference with or without a lid and just run a good filter like a k&n or holley powershot filter
