ive had my car for a couple of months now and i came across some problems a week after driving it. unfortunately, its on jack stands in my garage now..
anyways, to the point- i was driving down my street and heard some grinding noise, i put it into neutral and coasted down the road and still heard the noise so i decided to put it back into 2nd and put some gas into it and the noise stopped. i let go of the gas, and it started up again so i went home and looked underneath the car and it was dripping oil from the driveshaft. this leads me to think it could be the driveshaft bearings because there is quite a bit of play in it, but im uncertain. so my questions are: what could this be? is my guess accurate? will i have to buy a new ring and pinion? (the gears could be scarred) help! im lost
