Default Start up issues

My car has been acting funny when I go to start it up lately. It's kinda lagging and acting like it doesn't wanna start. I thought at first it was the starter or alternator, but after it lags for a few seconds it starts up, and the battery runs solid at 14, so that crosses out the alternator being the issue right? I'm thinking it's either the starter or was wondering if maybe since I used fuel injector cleaner on this tank of gas would it be possible that the cleaner dislodged something and now maybe an injector needs to be replaced? Kinda hard to explain, but mayeb I gave enough of a description for someone to help out. I'll try to post a video if I got the camera when it acts up. Oh, and it only acts up half the time. Also something I noticed is that the horn sounds weak when I hit the lock button on the remote.

Sounds like a starter.

Well I found out that starters can cost an arm and a leg. The starter was indeed going out as I found out thanks to the guys at Advance. The local Pontiac dealership wanted $320 for a new one and $300 for a rebuilt one, I planned on doing it myself but I had to find out what ridiculous price they'd charge for labor: $180! What a rip-off! Advance wanted $150 I believe for a new one and $115 for a rebuilt one (not sure on Advance's prices but I know those numbers are close). I called a local generator, alternator, and starter shop, and to install it and put in a rebuilt one they charged $130. I figured since they'd been there for 50+ years they'd do a good job and sure enough they did. Only took the guy doing it about 45 minutes to finish.

Glad to hear that fixed your problem.

Fyi, DONT buy hard parts like starters, alternators, batteries, or anything else from Advance. They are terrible quality. If I buy a part from a parts store, I goto NAPA.

But glad to hear they took care of you!

Thanks for the tip Phate. I still can't believe what the dealer was gonna charge just for the part.
