I did not know there was a stroker kit for 3.8l fbodies! Has anyone seen this mod done before? Because I might put off the paint job and do this instead in the summer.

Stroker kits are nice for an NA car, but if you're ever wanting to boost or spray it, its not a good idea.

Personally, i'd rather spend $300 on a nitrous kit and get the power when I need it, and not make the engine so radical that its a pain to work on, and spend $1400 doing it, just to get the same gains, or less. If I remember correctly, going from a 3.8 to 4.1 only gives around 8% gain in flywheel numbers.

I'm thinking I'm going to do this. Since my dad paid for half teh car I had to wait until I got his ok to mod the engine... I now have permission! So scrap the exterior plans is my theory. I'm thinking stroker kit and shift kit this summer. Anyone know of a good shift kit for the 4spd?

^^^lol...either way I'd do something to it, and now he's got the OK...so mod it. But seriously Phate's right, nos is more bang for your buck, so do the spray then down the road if you need to rebuild the motor build it for the spray... with the extra money you save from the stroker kit you can do a coverter, some rearend gears, and maybe some sfc's... bang for buck, end goal going fast. gl

I'm just really hesitant on running NOS in my daily driver for safety reasons.

I dont get why people are so hesitant about nitrous. Its gotten such a bad rep for hollywood misconceptions.

Nitrous Oxide Guide for 3.8

Theres your bible. Read the text in blue, it tells you all about nitrous, and how safe it is.

So what's your overall budget? NOS is done alot. By the way, Bret's car has NOS in it. Actually, I'm not sure if he still has it now or not, but the point is he commuted in that car when it had NOS. So you shouldn't be that worried. If NOS is done correctly, you shouldn't have any problems. Done correctly, by someone who has experience that is.

Overall budget will be whatever I'm able to save up from now until then, so I'm hoping atleast 3k for parts and plan on installing a lot of the parts myself. Trying to decide if I wanna put in a cam or headers. I'm going to find the laws on NOS in my county and go from there, if it's legal then I'll do it. I'm going into the physical therapy field after college and the place I want to get hired at you have to have a squeaky clean past, last thing I need is some BS charge because of NOS.
