Water shield
After having set back after set back after set back financially, I'll finally be able to buy a cold air intake kit when I get paid this week *knock on wood*. I have one concern though. I read that water can get into the engine with a CAI, and this one is going to replace my stock airbox and sit on the radiator right where there's the opening on the firebird hood. I don't wanna get stranded in the rainy season (may-sep). So I was wondering if I should get a water shield for where it's going to be sitting at?

Thats one of the reasons I went with the K&N FIPK made for the LT1 and just cut my own 90 degree bellow.
If you put a water shield on it, you'll be limiting the air that the intake is getting though.

Yeah I wanted the kind with the elbow because my sister's bf said he'd give me a hand with it since he's installed that kind before. These are the only kinds of CAI I've been finding though:
Would an airbox help prevent water from getting in there?

I can't really answer that, but if you go with the FIPK or the 98-02 v6/v8 camaro/firebird cold-air induction scoop part # 21033 by SLP take a look at the catalog and order away.

Hey, I'm sorry about not having the v6 part of the catalog working. We had some other issues with the catalog we had to take care of frst. This week I'll be editing the V6 and putting alot more entries up including Whisper. Which one were you interested in and is it strictly a cost thing or you just like the product?

Ok K&N makes one, Fast Toys makes one, Whisper does, SLP too all make Induction products. I am not a tech and I don't know my way around this subject very well. If you are talking about the two kits above I have those, but Whisper looks different. Clue me in completely.
Thanks

I didn't know that all those brands made v6 CAIs or Air Boxes. I'm probably going to save my cash til I get paid in two more weeks that way I can go with the K&N CAI. As for what brand of air box I get, I don't care about that. You guys will more than likely get an order from me once I pick out the air box.
