I'm out of ideas. Is there a sensor on the passenger side head?

well.. i officially feel like an idiot... i fixed the problem and it was nothing mechanical... i didnt know that these cars HAVE to have the lower air dam.. i had taken mine off because it drags in my driveway, and just the other day i talked to a mechanic at the pontiac dealership, and he told me that it was absolutely necessary to have that air dam bolted up, so i bolted it back up and took it out the road, and it never got above 160... i really appreciate the help and ideas though, i wouldve never guessed it in a million years...

Well, don't feel that you're the only idiot. I would have never thought to have to check for that since it's not something people normally mess with. That's okay though...we all learned something by this situation or at least reinforced some stuff. Glad to hear that you got everything squared away. Have a good one.

thanx man... your car is pretty sweet btw, i been meanin to tell ya a like it for a while now but have been aggravated with this crap... i been meanin to ask ya, if i remember right i think i saw that you had the B&M shift improver kit installed in your 700R4, and i was wondering if you installed that yourself or if you had someone else do it?.. i thought about putting one in mine but i try to steer clear of doing anything to an automatic tranny for the fear that i might screw it up..

Thanks for the compliments. Actually, the shift kit was installed when the tranny was rebuilt. So, I couldn't tell you how easy or difficult it is to do. I totally understand about not wanting to screw things up though. I never claimed to be a mechanic so I do what I can and what I know I can't do I pay someone to do. LOL!

lol.. i hear ya there.. i believe in tryin to learn things on your own and do them yourself but some of the stuff i just cant see learnin with cause if ya screw it up youre out a fortune to fix it.. i believe im gonna have to have mine rebuilt so i may have that kit installed when its rebuilt.. i checked my tranny fluid the other day and it looks about like motor oil, lol (so its at least definately time for a fluid and filter change)... anyways, i hope my ride looks half as good as yours when im done... have a good 'un...

Again, thanks for the compliments. My car doesn't look half bad in person, but I can do great things behind the lens of a camera and make it look awesome. Now if my car was only running. The garage needs one simple part to start my car with the new modification on it. Without it...oil will spill everywhere and that of course wouldn't be cool considering I'm about to drive the car to Myrtle Beach (provided it's running in time for F-Body Beach Week). Wish me luck.
