Driveshaft
wheres the best place for me to get a driveshaft to fit my new setup? TH400 tranny and standard 10bolt rear. I even seen one online that said it was "carbon fiber"? Would that be strong enough to hold 500hp? or should I just look in local classifieds to avoid shipping costs? Im sure that isnt cheap

Yes the carbon fiber driveshaft would be strong enough but they are expensive. Spohn performance sells Extreme duty driveshafts. I have one of them in my Firebird. All you need to know is if your 400 is the long or short tailshaft.

The nice thign about carbon driveshafts is, if you do destroy it. It'll just poof. Unlike a steel or alum one where it'll be like a hand gernade.

Yep, I'm gonna need one as well!
1983 Z28 - Turbo 350 - Moser 12-bolt w/1350's.
What's the maximum hp/torque that an aluminum shaft can handle?

We have 3" custom steel driveshafts cut to fit whatever. Now, if you want something else I would need to talk to Jason. I have a fit guide that shows you how to tell what kind you need. The driveshaft is $210. I'll put up the guide.

That's cheap...do you make it in house? what hp is it rated for? right now na 411rwhp. I have a nos set-up to spray 150 but not sure if I'm gonna use it. I might just rock it the way it is till I do the swap , so i still have something to swap.(2 bolt mains)

No problem, you have plenty of room to grow. We have rigs running 9 seconds with that driveshaft. We have someone in town that does alot of work on the driveshafts and we have a w/d relationship with them. $210 plus shipping. By the way we have a W/D agreement with Spohn, so let me know what you are looking for. If you look on our site you'll find that our advertised prices are the same as Spohn. That's due to our agreement with them, but that doesn't prevent us from doing a little better on those prices with an individual customer. Jason is close friends with the Spohns and that's why he wants to adhere to the policy. If you are interested in a product call me at 410-242-0404. I really don't want to post a price online that doesn't uphold the policy. Better yet email me at aferrillo@fbodycentral.com
