Try checking craigslist.com you'll find everything you wanted to find and even some stuff you didn't want to come across.

Thanks, that makes perfect sense and is a great idea.

I found a 79 Pontiac Firebird I may go look at this weekend. The guy says the body has no rust and is perfectly straight. It currently has a 350chevy and 350trans which is good because that is what I will be putting in there. It will also come with the original engine which I think he said was a 301 but I am not that familiar with the engines in the pontiacs from that year. He is asking $3000 but said he was not firm. It is a 100mile drive which isnt bad and he lives in the middle of no where. I actually own a tree farm not 15 miles from where the car is.

I have a question for a complete newb so dont flame me to hard. What years are considered 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen, etc? I am pretty familiar with all the cars, what they look like, what engines came in which years(at least the chevys with V8's) and so on but am not sure what the exact nomenclature is.

1st gen = 1967-1969
2nd gen = 1970-1981
3rd gen = 1982-1992
4th gen = 1993-2002
5th gen = new Camaro in '09

No worries about asking newb questions here, I've asked several myself.

Well too bad you dont live alittle closer. I drove past a 3rd gen Camaro for sale today about a mile or so from where I live. Looked pretty good from the road. The body is in primer and looked like they are asking $1000 for it.
