Egr
i was wondering if i need the egr pump the one on front of the passenger side head the one that goes into the intake? will it effect the performance of the car if removed? i would like to get rid of it it's ugly

You can do an EGR bypass, but im not sure how to without deleting the code in the ECM first. (There isnt a pump, its an EGRV, Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve) I did a writeup on what it does on another thread.

You will see a slight to noticeable decrease in fuel economy if you do this mod, normally.

You will probably keep getting codes lighting up. And like specialk said, I think that it would actually reduce the fuel economy.

what about running an after market intake would i be able do delete the code?or does the after market intake come with a spot for the EGR

that's why you get the code deleted, get yourself a handheld programmer... If your gonna start changing things like intake, exhaust, fuel, etc., you'll want one instead of bringing it to a shop every time you change something.  just a thought.

i will end up going to my local dyno tune shop after i do a few things. anyone here had there stock ls1 profesionally tuned? what kind of horsepower gains can i achieve from a profesional tune

your local tuner can delete all the codes you want! nothing is better than a real dyno tune...

Depends on your mods. A dynotune really only helps with major mods.

Kinda OT and very noobish- but isn't the really big one to have dynotuned after installation a cam?
