Default Exhaust question

I am a Flowmaster person. I am looking between the 40 or 80 series. Which one sounds better and performs better. I am looking at just the muffler right now or do you suggest the full cat back system? It is a stock LS1 in the bird but I miss the Flowmaster sound. Thanks

Flowmaster only makes one muffler for these cars. It's an 80 series crossflow. If you used the 40 series in the factory location you would have just 1 tailpipe. I talked to a rep a few years back at a Super Chevy show about the fact that they don't offer enough choices for these F-bodies.

That's because the position of the stock muffler for the 4th gen honestly sucks. Going custom is the only way to get a good setup going, a good true dual.

True duals are too $$$$$ for me right now. I am looking for the quick, cheap way. Like my women.

If you could get over my way(NO. Georgia) I got a boy over here that does everybodys exhaust. He said true duals for him aint no problem. He's a master welder and does exhaust on the side at his house. Has the lift and tubing to do it all. If you are close I can hook you up!! Jeff

I am in North East Arkansas, you know, where the Tornado's hit today. Anyway, I just had a Flowmaster 80 series put on today and it is even more quiet than the stock exhaust. I must admit I was a little disapointed. I am looking at true duals in the future, that will come with time. I would really like to get a set of headers on and then true duals off of them. We will have to wait and see what Santa brings.

replace the cats with bullets, not test pipes. Or go with test pipes then bullets if you don't like the tone. Myself I hate a catless Blowmaster exhaust.

There are O2 sensors in front and behind, I hate lights coming on. I am looking at some new cats. Don't know if the ones I have are bad but the car has 68k on the clock and I am sure it can use some new ones.
