Default fuel gauge problem

my fuel gauge barely works, whenever i start the car or accelerate it goes to the full line and when i am driving sometimes it goes back down towards empty but very slowly. the only time i can get an accurate reading is when i first fill up and start my car or when i am idling for about a minute. and also gas mileage is horrible. i just had a tune up done a couple thousand miles ago. but the only thing that wasnt changed was the spark plug wires. could the wires have an affect on my gas? and how do i fix that gauge problem, what do i have to replace? i'm guessing the fuel pump or the knock sensor? please help.

Check your fuel pressure for your gas problem. Might be running high. Far as your gas gauge not working properly. Might be a sending unit going bad. OR a bad ground. I hate electrical issues myself. But first things' first make sure your grounds for that particular circuit are in good condition.
