Check that regulator. And keep your foot out of it.

It's too hard to keep my foot out of it...lol. Well, I got some free time and cash and called the local Chevy dealers to get prices for both fuel filter and regulator. Well, I got the fuel filter and come to find out there is no such thing as a Fuel pressure regulator on the LS1..that stumped me yet made sense (Since there is no vacuum line on the peice over the intake plenum between the rails). So changed the filter out, plus got the injectors cleaned...problem is still there...more than likely fuel pump...I am really not worried about it at this point because Im too lazy to do it right at this point and if I cycle the key on and off twice it primes the system enough to make the car start right up. Really not the reaction I wanted, but oh well. Nothing I can really do..

Update, it started misfiring really bad (Engine light flashing and all) so I'm going to bring it to work and hook up the scanner. I hope I don't fuck something up completely. I think over the winter when it's parked I'll take it apart and replace all the gaskets, rings, and check for other issues. I'm losing oil fast and it's not leaking anywhere on the outside. Rings maybe? I have to be burning it up...

They're correct. Fuel pressure on the LS1 is PCM controlled. There is still a schrader valve to check fuel pressure though. Check it, should be no less than 50lbs. If it is, my money is on the pump.
