i got a 2001 firebird and was wanting to replace the headlight bulbs to bright white or something cause my stock lights are so dim. so i went to autozone to get me some and ask the guy and he gave me the square part. he told me thats what you replace on the firebird. so if i want to change the bulb i got to buy the square thing or do i purchase just the bulbs?

On the 2001 you have to replace that whole square bulb. Get the Xtra Vision bulbs they have, it will ight up the road better than the regular halogens... If you can get a hold of some silverstars try to find them, but, i have yet to find silverstars in that bulb.
For our car, you can't replace just the bulb. Get the whole thing. Its like 14 bucks, if you get two you get them for like 25 or so for the Xtra Visions. I just replaced mine, and they work A LOT better then the regular Warner Halogens that i had in there. A lot wider beam.
