Default Katech Budget 427CID Value Short Block

Katech Engine Development - Street Performance

Yes, I know that an LS1 could be built up to make similar power with heads, cam, forced induction, etc. But who can roll around in an F body and say, "yeah, she's got a forged 427..."

I'm playing with the idea of doing a motor swap instead of trading in for a 5th Gen but I want to set my daily driver 4th Gen apart from the standard H/C or FI (no offense to anyone!).

This kit is actually a stroked and sleeved LS2, what heads and intakes are compatible with this block? I know Katech could answer this question but I wanted to know what you grease monkeys think.

Any part that's compatible with a LS series block. :P

L-98 heads are a good option here for the money.

Though another option is a LQ9. May not be a 427 and may not be aluminum but it's cheaper, and you can just as easy have a 408+ with it as well.

Dont you mean the L92 heads?
L92s with an L76 intake would be the perfect head for all those cubes!

Right, typos > me.

I heard that there was a mangacharer lower intake for the L heads being made/are made now, so if you wanna go FI that's an option too. 600+hp should be no problem even on a very basic tune.

Personally, I think Katech's prices are too high... and I don't like resleeved blocks. I would do a 440 from SDPC if you wanna buy one pre-built. If I can scrape the funds up this winter, I'm gonna build a 440 with an LS7 block myself... throw a 300 shot on that and I should be rollin...
