Skip the MAF upgrade. Your stocker is best....the others are calibrated for OTHER cars and can throw off your Air/Fuel.

Get the Magnaflow. Install is actually pretty simple. And they actually back their products...unlike SLP. Flowmaster's catback doesn't flow much better than the stock catback, so...

I installed my first catback in about 1.5 hours with very basic tools.

I trust you guys...is the magnaflow the best exhaust for great sound at low speeds?

With that said, I have a little over a G left. What's the next step I can take to achieve hardcore sound at idle/low speed?

The first mods i'd always do is CAI, headers, aftermarket cat (or -cat), and exhaust.

Those will get you the best sound, minus the sound of a cam

If I had a bone stock car...my mods would be in this order.

1. Airbox lid
2. Magnaflow catback
3. Subframe connectors (UMI)
4. If automatic...a higher stall converter.
5. Pacesetter longtube headers
6. LS6 intake (if the car is a 1998-2000)
7. LCA's with relocation brackets and lowering springs

I think hes going for sound over speed though. Not to mention, that list is quite a bit of denero. Esp the stall converter and ls6 intake.

Well onec you get headers that changes VERY quickly. Ask Slowass, his car sounded like it'd rip off your balls post headers, pre cam, with his LS-1.

Don't buy into that flowmaster BS. Slowmasters DRONE. I had a 40 series muffler and I HATED it.

Also, don't' buy through that guy, he's ripping you a new one, even with shipping buying online

F-BodyCentral - Late Model GM Performance

For all you LS1 F-Body Newbies

They're selling a SLP lid for just over $100.

As for a catback, just install it yourself. All you need is a wrench, some jackstands, and a can of WD-40.

Now as for a Airflow sensor. just descreen your stocker. (maybe) And port your stock TB, lightly. I'm sure you could even get a guy at a local machine shop to do it for you if you don't have the tools, for cheap.

After that you could consider headers, though the only ones worth getting IMO are at least ceramic coated.

Another option is a underdrive damper

F-Body Central - Late Model GM Performance Shop

Don't buy just a pulley. You need a damper/harmonic balancer. Removing a balancer is bad. Don't listen to the riceboys that have a pulley on their civic. The only pulleys you should have is under drive accessory pulleys, not a crankshaft pulley/balancer.

Okay, new change of plans, my wife's dad is going to install everything for a steak from Outback. The guy loves me because I take care of his granddaughter that my wife had when she was young. That's my baby, even though she's a "big girl" now. Anyway, needless to say I have some money freed up, does anybody have any ideas for low budget up grades apart from a cold air, and exhaust?

I promise I'll quit bugging you guys soon, and thank you all for your time.

New list...

Magna flow
CAI
???
???

You'll have another 1k?

Hmm so many options...

I'd definately invest in some pacesetters. After that, i'd probally gear it, and throw in a shifter if its a manual. I know shifters usually arnt high on many peoples lists.. but after driving cars with good aftermarket shifters, i'll never go back. After that.. I think i'd get SFC's. They make such a staggering difference even without really 'racing' the car.
