No, Never.....they are a waste of money. Find yourself a local tuner shop that has either LS1EDIT, HPTuners, EFI-Live for tuning software and get it done correctly....ON THE DYNO.

Okay, let me give you the low-down on power programmers and chips.
Unless you are getting the super expensive versions, all they do is lean out the fuel mixture, adding horsepower. Thats all good and well on a stock car (even though it is doing damage slowly) but, all you have to add is a few power adders and you're screwed royally.
You'll find numerous horror stories about people using hypertech programmers then add headers and exhaust and an intake and blowing the motor from going lean.
Stay far far away my friend. Wait until you get some motor work done, then dyno-tune it. Until then, leave her be.

I think 78mm is the biggest with a stock LS1 intake.

Just port your stocker, you don't need bigger till you start working on the internals.

Don't change your throttle body or intake manifold until you add new heads.

What does porting the ithrottle body do as far as horsepower? I took the MAF off the other day and could see gunk in the throttle body. Is that just a little wear from 68k on the clock? It is stock LS-1
