Price.
And it still is an unsprung clutch disc. I don't trust sprung SPEC discs.
Still hold my power no problem and it will have slightly better street manners.

Yea, I didn't know it was or wasn't sprung, never thought about that Mines sprung though, has held up so far with all the juice it eats.

There are plenty of sprung discs that can hold power well.
Just makes for an easier driving street clutch having them.

The SPEC 5 is a simple disc. Iron. Heavy.
The SPEC 4 looks like most discs. 6 puck, lighter. But it is still un-spring.
Something about SPEC's sprung discs that scares me.

BTW...car got 15 MPG on the last tank.

From the cracks in that pressure plate I's say, Yeah, overheated. I don't understand going back to a SPEC. I'm sure you've read all the horror stories about them on Tech as I did. Seems they got sloppy after they hit big with the first run that got rave reviews. I know if and when my trans has to come back out my SPEC is gone.

Never heard anything bad about the 4 and 5.
It seems to be the 3 and lower that cause the issues.

Plus...price. The owner of the shop we did the work at is a dealer for SPEC.

Heh I'm happy as a clam with my Exeedy stage 2. Only wish I hadn't bought this damn flywheel. Oh well, makes it easy to rap this baby up and let her crackle at least. Scares the shit outta people.
