Default 1979 t/a rear axel off set

Hello, I'm new to the board and have enjoyed poking around. My 79 t/a is a 2 owner car and all original and in amazing shape but before I start spending money on a restoration I have a concern. When looking at the car from the rear the axel seems to be off set to the right. The right side tire side wall is flush with the forward fender skirt but on the left side of the car it is 2 in. inside of the skirt. I'm concerned that the car is bent and not worth spending on. Could bent leaf springs cause this? Prior owners indicated no accidents and when looking at car underneth there is no evidence of damage or repair. Thanks for any ideas.
