Default 92 Formula / TB

I have a 92 Formula and I am putting in a new Holley TB dual 58mm.
Is there anything I need to be concerned about with adjusting any timing or computer info? I dont want to screw anything up!
Please advise.
Thank you!
Jason W.

Have you done anything else to the engine or are you bolting this TB on a stock engine?

Its pretty much a stock 5.0 TPI engine. The engine is brand new with less than 1000 miles on it. I have put a stage 2 chip on and increased the timing 4 points above stock.
I also put a new intake on.

My main concern here is that a stock 305 or 350 even doesnt really need that big of a TB. A 52mm TB can support 750cfm which is more than a stock engine will need unless its turning high rpms. The only engines I have heard benefitting from that big TB were higher modified. I am afraid you might loose performance going that big without better heads, cam, exhaust and etc..

I forgot to mention that it does have a Flow Master 50 Series exhaust already on it when I bought the car. That problay wont make much of a difference with out the cam and heads. What do you recommend I use for a cam and heads?
Thanks for your help.
This is actually my second 92 firebird. The first one was when I was a kid and didnt have the money to put into it.

Heres a link to a thread about this exact topic. It should answer all your questions. You can see the setups the guys that are using a 58mm TB are using. The majority of it is saying a 58mm is just to much for a stock engine. Since you have a 305 I amnot sure heads and cam will be enough. Give this a read and see if it helps you.

Sorry not to get back to you sooner, it has been crazy at work.
Thank you for the information, it has been very help full. I actually found a really good book just on TPI intakes and F body cars that will help me a ton. There is actually alot you can do to these F body cars that will make a huge difference. It'll just take some money and time.
Thanks again!
