Try using your key and a friend to convince it to open. Don't get too rough. After it's open remove your body panels in the way of the motor and if its' the way I think it is there should be a spring there with the motor that. Go to a local hardware store and get one that's the same length and stuff, but has a higher spring rate. That should fix your problem. That is, if the motor's still in good shape.

If you have the rear hatch pull-down motor, it's a screw type (no springs)

Copied from here - http://www.fbodyonline.com/showthrea...=5082#post5082

For the rear hatch:
Check out Top-Down Solutions. They have a really great pull-down hatch repair for the 3rd gens. I bought his kit, and it has been perfect. Lon is a really good guy too, and will help you over the phone if you need it.

Here is a link for it: http://www.top-downsolutions.com/index.php?cPath=22

Thanks for telling him that, I don't really know a whole lot about 3rd gens. Asside from the fact that they came with a bunch of different engines. And 95% of them are slow as hell stock.
