Default Can't hear bass???????????

The problem is: I can't hear any bass from my stock car audio system. It doesn't sound like bass is blown out, it just sounds like a fuse went or something. Any one get my problem?

I believe I have a the 200 watt system that comes with 30th anniversary camaros.

Heres the deal...
When I bought the car (8 monthes back) I tried out the bass in the car and it sounded amazing. I just recently tried turning the bass up and it felt like there was only bass coming from the speakers.

In short, there is a distinct difference in bass compared to back when I got the car.
I tried setting the controls to only play in the back with no treble and all bass. This gave me even less bass than before. It appears that most of my bass is coming from my two front speakers and not enough from the back.

No one has any idea?

You may have blown out a speaker depending on if they're the stock ones, I'm assuming you checked for this already? If so then start with what could be a simple problem and just check out the wiring, something may have come vibrated out of place.

Well, I'm wondering really where the bass speakers are located... I'm embarrassed to ask, but where are they? I always just thought the football sized speakers behind the back seats were the bass, but from what i heard, it sounded like those weren't it.

Bass comes out of all of those speakers, unless you have individual tweeters. But, the ones behind the seats, and door panels will give off bass. The chance of all of them being blown would be unlikely. Sounds like your factory stereo might need to be replaced.

If you can still hear the music (other than bass) out of your speakers, then, usually the wireing is good to the speakers. Do you have another head unit you can place in there, to check it out? Or any speakers? If you can test the speakers, and the head unit, do it.

But, i would guess that something is wrong with the head unit.

Hard to say, considering I can't check it out for you.

Stock speaker locations are as follows.

Door panel: Easy to find those. 6 3/4"

Back seat pannel 6 3/4"

And in the trunk 4"

If you want more bass I suggest swapping all the speakers out all at once. The factory jobs are made of paper and foam, and are rather unreliable when you crank them up.

If you want some awesome full sound for not a SHITTON of money Pioneers Premier class speakers are awesome, With a Kevlar cone and a Rubber surround they will perform very well. I was super satisfied with them alone in my CRX.

Pioneer TS-D170R Car Speakers
Grab those for your front.
Pioneer Premier TS-M7PRS Car Speakers
Those for the back seat (You don't want or need tweaters back there really)
Pioneer TS-G1041R Car Speakers
And these way in the back.
4" speakers can't produce bass really, they're physically too small. I'm not sure about the stock freq cutoff for those far back speakers, but you might wanna invest in a set of bass blockers. Nothing worse than buting brand new speakers, cranking up the bass and having them blow in the first month of owning them.

Before you start buying anything though, check the connections first. You said you have the 200 watt setup, which isn't the Monsoon 500 I had stock.
