Default have a question?

there is a plate under the car that runs under my y pipe and bolts to the driver side and passenger side floor with four bolts, is this plate necessary or can i remove it? my y pipe keeps vibrating against it and driving me nuts!

Yes, it is nessicary. Its part of your chassy support. Without it, the car will have more flex, and have more roll.

I believe we are talking about the same part? Runs right behind the tranny-driveshaft ujoint? Its called a tunnel brace. You can buy aftermarket versions here:

BMR DTB001 BMR Tunnel brace, 1993-2001 F-Body(non-convertible models only) - DTB001 BMR Fabrication

But yes, it does need to be there.

Yea, you better keep that and see if you can't adjust your exhaust to support itself better. Or grab that piece. It's almost as goos as subframe connectors in terms of stiffening up the chassis.
