My Camaro needs some TLC!
I have around 110,000 miles and it's in serious need of repairs. I've taken it to Sears and a few other shops in the area, but I'm not crazy about any of them. I have an oil leak, occasional check engine lights, fuel gage errors, weird clutch issues, a few dents and scratches, a tear in the leather, and many random problems. I need a good mechanic that is willing to give my car the TLC she needs. I assume new shocks and breaks are needed. I special ordered my car when I was 17 and I have loved her since. I moved to Chicago several years ago and I've only put around 1,000 miles a year on her for the last 5 years. I am living in Dallas now, my car is garaged in Chicago, and my family is in Northern Arkansas. If you or someone you know is looking for a good project or you know a great mechanic, PLEASE let me know. I'm also in the airline industry and I would be able to send them a one-way ticket to Chicago to pick it up. I am in no rush. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! -Don Last edited by dps1978; 06-08-2008 at 03:27 AM. Reason: spelling |

Moved to propper forum.
Sounds like a real heartbreaker move man, got some pics of this ride? Need some better detail into what it is also. Don't even say if it's an auto or manual, and that's a dealbreaker for a lot of guys and gals.

Without any specific information of the problems it has it is really hard to say what is wrong with the car. For example, check engine light - it could be anything without knowing what the code is. At 110K the clutch is probably gone or about to go. A new clutch would solve that issue. Where is it leaking oil from? Without knowing there are several places it could be coming from...any of which are bad, but not dire unless it's spewing. The fuel gage error is probably a bad sensor or the gage itself. I'd bet a sensor. As for dents and dings, a good paint/body shop can hook you up with that, but you get what you pay for. The seats can easily be replaced. They are always on eBay for sale and you can also find some replacement seats on many car forums from those that turn their cars in to race cars or upgrade to a different seat. Again, without specifics on some of the items it's really hard to say what the problem is and the solution. HTH.
