Need Help
what's the best way to tell if a motor has siezed up (LT1 350 94 z28) my mom started her car yesterday and let it run for a bit she walked away and when she returned the car was no longer running her oil pressue was running at about 7 to 10psi on the dash gauge for a few weeks (didn't tell anyone)now all the car does is make this clunking sound and does nothing else (does'nt even turn over)feels like the starter is smacking the flywheel

Um..drain the oil, and take a good look at it. If it's shiny and has some metallic in it, there is bearing damage. Take the oil filter and cut it in half with a knife. Look at the deposits inside of it, again, look for metal. While you have the front of the car jacked up (with stands too) take a 5/8 socket and a long breaker bar and attach the socket to the center of the balancer. Try to turn the motor over by hand. If you can't, even with a long bar, it's seized. Tell your mom that guages are on a car for a reason.

thank god the motor is not siezed!! i finally got a chance to get over there and check it out she has a bad alternator and with the mini tourque starter it was making this loud clunk every time you tried to turn it over and she panicked but the oil pressure is running very low it's just a cunt hair above the red. she got some repairs to do before i'll let her drive it again

Oh, and another piece of advice? High capacity oil pump. The Stock LT oil pump honestly is a weak link. Just like in the LS1s that go with big cams.
