hey iam having a problem with my lights i cant just have my running lights on without the headlights coming up any ideas!

well i'm assuming you have a firebird??

i have an '01 firebird and when i bought it i had the same problem, hated it. actually it's not a problem it's just how the cars made, all firebirds are like that. but one of my gears on the headlight was broken and it was making that grinding noise. so i bought the part and installed and since then i can put my running lights on and my headlights stay down.

Mine does not do that. I am able to turn my parking lights, and the driving lights on, by turning the switch to the parking light area... if i want the lights to go up, i put it all the way over to the headlight indicator.

Could also have a problem with the switch. I had one go out on another vehicle that had pop up lights as well.
