Default Sound proofing help

I just bought a 2002 Firehawk from a guy I know and I wanted to do sound proofing in the car because there is too much road noise coming into the car. Right now I used the Duplicolor Sound Dampening spray that is rubberized. It didn't make that much of a difference.
I wanted to know if I should try using dynamat in the trunk and if you do recommend using dynamat, should I take off the Duplicolor spray on stuff that I had used. Let me know what you guys think.

I was told to do something like this when i install my exhaust because of the interior noise, but i noticed a lot of my road noise is just from around the doors and i dont think there's much to do about that, except some better seals. I just listen to music really loud

As far as replacing the duplicolor with the dynomat, i don't think it will make that much of a difference, and it seems like it would just be a waste of time taking the other stuff off. But im not very familliar with this stuff on an fbody....

The only reason i'd remove the dupi would be if the dynomatt didnt stick well. Otherwise, i'd just leave it.

Now, your saying your getting alot of road noise.. are you sure its not tire noise? If a tire is chopped, or you are using directional tires that have a very obscure tread pattern it can make a TON of noise at higher speeds.

There is tire noise that occurs at higher speeds but the noise that I wanted to get rid of occurs when I ride over something like sand or small pebbles. You can hear that through the whole car. After a while it gets annoying pretty fast.

Then Dynomat would probally be your best choice of action. Dont expect it to sound like a Cadiliac or Lexus after you're done though, its still going to be noisy, especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust system on the car. Keep in mind though, Dynomat is pretty expensive, and its going to be alot of work to do the whole car.

You're most likely hearing most of it coming from inside the fenders when the tires pick up the rocks/pebbles/rain. All 4th Gens are a bit notorious for being loud back there.

x2 thats what I had in mind. A friend of mine lives down a pebble road and anytime I pick him up (which I make sure is rare) I get a lot of noise in the cabin.

is there any way to get rid of this noise? is it a good idea to take off the wheel and add sound dampening material in the wheel well?
