The nitrous is definatly in the plans. Even if for some reason my wife decides to go with the Pontiac motor(she has her eye on a 464 kit from CDP) we are going to run this engine for a season or two with a decent shot of Nitrous. Talking to one of the Gurus over at V8buick.com I am told that with the engine I have a can safely run a 150 shot as long as I change the spring in the oil pump to a 60 pound( I think its pound) spring and making the mod that goes under the intake and upgrading the fuel system a bit. I think once she gets to driving this car with the nitrous she will decide to just stick with the Buick engine. It hard to argue with the kind of torque it has. Plus once we get the rear end in, slap some slicks on it and she really gets to feel that torque, instead of just spinning half the block like the car does now, she will like it.

I do have a question about cleaning the engine bay and the lower half of the motor though with it still in the car. There is, or was a leak, somewhere. I am pretty sure it is or was coming from the power steering line. Anyways the lower half of the engine is very dirty as is the lower half of the engine compartment. I need to clean it and in the past I have always just used a spray can of cleaner and a hose or high pressure sprayer. Honestly I usually just remove the engine and do it the right way, but she wants to drive it now and she doesnt want me to pull the engine unless I have to. Would you recommend having it steam cleaned or just do it the old fashioned way with spray cleaner, a wire brush, and a hose or sprayer?

I know its not leaking from the front or the back of the engine, nor are the valve covers or heads leaking(the dirt and fouling is lower than that) so I doubt I will have to change any gaskets. I think I just need to fix the line on the power steering pump if it has not alreay been fixed.

Yes we bought it. Awesome car. We already installed a 3.73 gear and Auburn Posi. We have a new 462 BBB engine on the way that will be 750hp on the motor with the possibility of running up to a 500 shot of nitrou. Of course the current tranny and rear end couldnt handle that power. But we love the car it is the best $3500 I ever spent. It drives and rides even better than it looks. You could comfortably cruise all day long.
