Yes the NOS floor mats are coming out. So are the seat covers. The seats are in pretty good condition actually. The passenger seat is not even cracked. The rest of the interior is really nice. The dash and instrument panel is perfect. The only place that could use improvement is the somewhat faded carpet, and the carpet on the door panel. ALso there is no radio so I need to find a radio delet kit. I was probably just going to buy a whole new kit from year one and have the seats professionlly done. I am a mechanic no an upolsterer.

I would build the Buick motor. That 455 has way more potential than any sbc you'd put in there. If you swap out for a sbd or bbc, you'll need motor mounts, a new tranny (bellhousing is diff) possibly a new driveshaft (length) a new set of headers, all the accesories, pulleys,etc...Check out TAPerformance, or Mondello.

Yes we are in the process of deciding what to do. We may go with TA performances heads, headers and intake. We have to decide soon as we are buying the rear end this week and if we are keeping the Buick we will need alot less gear in the back. I like the fact that Buick engines are alot lighter(there about the same weight as a small block chevy) but they have a very poor oiling system. If I do keep the 455 it is going to come apart and I am going to make some modifications to the oiling system. This is the second Buick 455 I have had and I had to change the front cam bearing on the last one 3 times. The last time I changed it I finally made the modifications to the oiling system and it was still going strong 20,000 miles later. Just wish I had done that sooner, but I am now good at changing cam bearings with very little work.

You can get that motor to put out 500hp/600ft lbs, and drive it all day. TA Performance Stage 1 heads, plus sp-1 intake. Whack it with a little N2O, and you'll have a bottom 10 sec daily driver.
