Question what tires?

looking to buy some tires for my 2001 firebird and wanted to get another opinion. what does everyone else have on there 4th gen firebird? i just have the stock 16" rim. i want high performance tires and a little bigger than what i have now (P235 55R). i need them for handling and wet and dry traction. and i just use my car for daily driver and some raccing. what would you recomend i get?

To be honest, I wouldnt go changing tire sizes until you get a new set of wheels. A set of tires that size are not going to stick regardless. Just grab you a good midline performance tire and use that until you change your wheels.

Im not sure what price range you're looking for, but two of the things you want counter each other. You cant have a good dry grip tire and expect it to do well in the rain, or ice. I personally just run a set of Sumitomo HTR+'s (cheap, but good quality control) on mine until I goto the track and swap for M/T ET's.

I have toyo proxes4's on the front of mine and they look BADASS, provide great front end handling and have kick ass treadwear. mine are 17's (275/45/17) and cost me $125 each, oh and they have that "W" speed rating, good for like 198mph lol
