Default Another new guy

Hey everyone I have come over to the darkside(gm) I am formally a mustang nut, had 4 foxbody stangs, but am picking up my first F body. Its a 1994 TA with the LT1 and auto trans. Car has bout 140k on it but runs strong, unsure of what I want to do with it yet but I know itsa good foundation as the car is straight nd clean for the most part except for the front seats. Car is t top and has leather. Im excited as hell to find out more bout these cars and eager to work on it. My only ideas so far that I might do is just spray it with a wet kit 150 shot and save up some money and try to do an LS2 swap. Anywayz I pick it up this weekend and will post pics asap.

Hi, I'm new to this site as well. You can still go plenty fast w/ an lt1. Basically, the best thing to do for an lt1 car is check out the opticrap (optispark). If I remember correctly they are mounted behind/under the water pump and have a tendency to go bad becuase water leaks inside. As far as I now msd is the only manuafacturer who makes on that is better sealed as well as has high peformance upgrades. A friend of mine had 2 used high mileage lt1 Z28's and those were the first things we had to change.

Frank, like blkSS98 said, you don't need a LS_ engine to get moving. If you prefer the LS2 then by all means swap if you'd like but the cost might not be worth the gain depending how you look at it.

So can I spray on these engine? im unaware if any of the internals are forged? and how bout tuning? easy? what bolt ons work best? and do these trannys handle any more power then stock?

welcome both of you. 94ta i would have the car looked over before i went ahead and threw spray on it, as far as tuning goes i 've had my car done by a proffesional tuning shop

Welcome to FBO the both of you. IF your gonna run that much spray, yea, deff make sure the motor can handle it. And if your not DEAD set on the LS2 a LQ9 is a lower cost alternative. (Same basic engine, just an Iron block)
