Welcome to FBO!
Good luck on the search. I'd reccommend that if you even look at a V6 F-Body to go with a Late model GenIV (98-02). For six-bangers, the 3.8Ls pretty spunky...I used to own one. GenIII cars are starting to get harder to find in good condition so if you find one, I'd jump on it whether it's a V6 or a V8. You can always do an engine swap later on. Again, good luck and welcome.

if you get a 3rd gen w/ a V8 it isnt going to be high, the insurance, cause older cars are cheaper. i used to own a 3rd gen w/ a V8 and was 17, 18 at the time and my insurance is more expensive now with my newer 4th gen V6 than was the V8.

I agree. There's still some good looking 3rd gens avail now. Look on Craig's list ans other sites like that.
