Hi i have always wanted a trans am since i watched Smokey and the Bandit. I finally managed to get one for a good price. it had an oldsmobile 307 in it and i had a chevrolet 283 so i put it in it. i am looking foward to redoing the interior and making it look great.

Smokey and the bandit did it for me too. I have an 80 that I'm putting a TPI motor into, and before that I had a 79 that I bought with a chevy 305 and swapped in a 350. I just love the look of the 79-81 birds.

I really want a leather interior but not much cash. I think i found some seats that will work for my 1981 transam but they are out of a 1996 trans am. I understand the frame rails need to be modified for them to fit because they are only $150 for the front and back seat. Anyone have any idea what i need to do to make them fit. thanks
