The painting of the plastic parts requires an adhesion promoter for plastic. The best thing to do is sand the parts until their smooth. I did this to a truck I had and it turned out great. To stay away from the ricer look I painted just the bezels around the gages ,a/c heater controls, headlight and window, door locks. I painted them body color and it gave the interior just the right look.
