Default Wheels

Well, its that time to get some new wheels and im wanting to get some nice wheels that arent too expensive. My biggest thing, is finding the widest rims possible that will still fit under my car. I have a 2002 camaro ss and right now all 4 rims are 17x9.5. Id like to get at least 18's and would like to get the widest rims possible on the back. Im not sure however which offset will fit the camaros and just how wide i can go. The front are fine being 9.5 inches. Any suggestions or help on what will and wont fit?

You can get as wide as you want, pending the offset makes the wheel fit. So I really cant tell you an 11 inch wheel will fit... until I know the offset. Now, if you choose a certain type of wheel, and I can see or know the offset, I can tell you. (Offset is how far the center of the rim is off from the middle).

But, with 4th gen standard camaro/firebird wheels, typically they are 18x11 and 18x9.5.

Thanks for the help. I understand the whole concept of offset and everything. i just didnt know what was out there for the camaros. and i guess i thought my wheels were 9.5 front and rear but your saying my rears are 11 in wide? I am looking for a wheel with a mesh design and something that has a nice dish on it. at the same time i want it pretty wide. If you have any links or suggestions on wheels, that would be great! once again thanks for your help!

By Mesh you mean something like this:

HRE 540s in silver-satin^

Not sure the Brand?

Is that the "Style" you're looking for or no?

Yeah thats just what im looking for. I went in to a local wheel shop and they made it sound like my options as far as width and offset were limited. but like i said i want something pretty wide and with a nice dish if thats possible. Also of coarse im not wanting to have any clearence issues.

They are not limited, provided you have the cash. Hell, if you want something perfect for your car, you can get a custom wheel from Boyd Cottington, any way you want it. But, I agree with the post above, the HRE's look amazing. Check out their site. HRE Wheels . If you dont like/cant afford those, there are always the typical vette style wheels, ZR1's, C5/C6, Z06, and my personal favorite AR TTII's (American Racing Torque Thrust II's).

I know for a fact the SOM Firehawk is riding on Fiske Profile 10s. They are truly awesome looking rims. But they are about 4 grand for a set.
