Default cruze night close call

so lastnight i went to a big cruze night near where i live (2-300cars) with my buddy who drove his 99 Z28.

hes had his car since 2000 so has had time to do some mods, and our friends have been pushing us to race...
on the way home we got a light and did a 1st gear roll start. 1st....2nd....(neck to neck) and right as im about to slam 3rd.....COP! in oncoming traffic right next to us!
we both slam on the brakes and look in our rearviews waiting for the flashing lights to come and get us....and waited....and waited....
LUCKLY! he didnt turn around. which is suprising because my buddy is running straight pipes and its loud.

we later got another light and repeated the race through 3rd gear. by 3rd i was a car and a half ahead.

Lucky night!

If it was me I'd have thought that if that cop hadn't pulled me over, he surely had another one waiting to nab us ahead...

Not a chance I'd take. A Stoplight to Stoplight race isn't worth my license

That's one good thing about living out in the sticks. Rarely are there patrols sent our way.

i never knew rochester ny was the "sticks" or the woods because i lived in latham, guilderland and albany in the past (most of my childhood til i was 13 from birth) and been the more than 2 dozen times atleast and its not that rural and its still ny where they'll pull you over for being on a cell phone! so he is super lucky not to mention his friend could of had a nice $1000 minimum fine $700 for no catalytic converter $300 for a noise pollution fine and illegal street racing not to mention SPEEDING an w/e else he could find like an expired emissions test sticker and registration

we dont have emission test stickers. but everything else...yup.

I dont condone street racing, but it does happen. i avoid racing whenever possible. I enjoy my car for what it is and dont need to prove anything to anyone. BUT....these are performance vehicles and SOMEtimes we need that rush. Adrenaline is a drug.

I was talking about how I rarely encounter the police. Not only do I not live in Rochester, I've never been there. He is lucky, if the police there are as strict as you say.
