i was driving down a major road tonight and a mustang pulled up behind me and started riding my ass so of course i took off to get rid of him and he pulled up next to me, revved his engine and started taking off. i couldnt resist so i let him have it- half way through 4th he started pulling away from me, other than that we were neck and neck. heres what made me feel better though--

me: 1998 3.8l v6 with exhaust (about the only performance upgrade ive got so far besides brakes)

him: 2008 4.6l v8 mustang GT with exhaust (that i know of)

and i was neck to neck with him, almost had him

i mean, if i only have a v6 and i was still right next to him, thats kinda sad lol.

ya alot of mustang guys at least in my area seem to think they are the fastest car on the road. and then when we walk all over them they shut up real fast. when i went to the track friday i ran against a 5.0 mustang and got him by like 2 or 3 cars

and alot of people in v6 camaros are so cocky for some reason...beating a stock 5.0 mustang is nothing.

I have never been beat by a camaro EVER in my 96 Cobra.. I have raced several different Camaros and not one of them could even hang with me.. Im just saying id like to see a camaro that can walk all over me and shut me up real fast. There are deff. Camaros that are faster than me, i have never encountered one.

well its tough not to be cocky when you can hang with a car stock for stock that has a higher price tag and 2 more cylinders and is a notorious muscle car. beating a stock 5.0 is nothing, but the fact we can hang with/beat GTs up through 2004, thats kinda sad, and MOST gt owners do think they can take any other sports car on the road.

Mustangs are nice cars I would probably take a terminator over a t/a because its rare and a beast, but a GT pssshhh everyones got em.

Oh comon Stephanie, there isnt even a comparison between a GT and a Cobra. I just like the fact that GT's are the most common thing to rev at me, and always the first to loose. (Usually driven by a teenage highschooler). Nothin wrong with a v6

yah when i was at the track i ran 13.38 at 105mph and this local kid had all his buddies rooting for him at the side of the fence and i had my widows down and they had already counted me out and debating that this guys car would woop me and he had like a 2004 stock mustang gt 4.6l DOHC in the nasty metallic lime green color 5 or 6 speed not sure what they have as a manual with a cold air intake AND EVEN HAD HIS ONE HEADLIHT HOUSING ASSEMBLY OUT FOR MORE AIR FLOW... nothing else and he only did a 14.4 at 93 mph LAUGH MY F*CKEN @SS OFF !!! i pulled back to lines and all his friend hovered around him and started yelling at him saying what heck is done to that black camaro you should of owned that car AND I JUST STARTED LAUGHING AT THEM BUT IM LIKE 60 FT AWAY FROM THEM SO THEY DIDNT NO I HEARD BUT THEY WERE FREAKING OUT AND YELLING OVER IT WHEN I WAS JUST HAVING FUN I GUESS A FEW PEOPLE MADE A BAD BET $$$

...and I dont know too much about mustangs, and I hate to start anything but if your 6cylinder (any car) can keep up with ANY "sports" car with a v8 in it...its not much of a sports car is it?

You are deff right about that, nothing wrong with a v6 at all

And everyone is right about GT owners, they do seem to think they are so fast, and I agree when a V6 beats them it should show them that there ''fast'' Gt really isnt that fast.

ya for me GTs are a joke..ive taken 5 diffrent ones of the line and rolling..they arent muscle cars the only one i have respect for are the cobras..and still the ss eats dem!
