Just got back....
HOLY SHIT THATS A BADASS CAR!
Now all I gotta do is talk my dad into co-signing on a loan for me, thats gonna be the hardest part. But yeah, the dealer didn't know anything about it being NHRA, ofcourse I didn't inform him of it since I don't want the price to hike up by 10k. I think I could haggle him down from 13 to 11 though.

Haha welcome to the big leagues. Tell your old man that since it's a NHRA car it's worth a TON. -IF- it is stock, keep it that way. OR at least keep all the stock parts for it around assuming you aren't gonna do anything internally to it that will be noticeable. Like a badass cam and a FAST intake. Smaller subtle mods won't diminish the value of the car.

Yeah I plan on waiting a day or two to make my pitch, but if I get it, I'm gonna do what you just said- only small mods if any.

I was thinking the same thing.
It always starts out with "light" mods, then you get beat once and that goes right out the damn window

Well my dad said he'd co-sign on the loan but that I'd have to start paying my own insurance instead of 50%, the problem is Geico is wanting to charge me $50 more a month for insurance on it because I had a wreck in November of 05. Pisses me off cuz the truck I had that wreck in was an 84 and it didn't have ABS. Unless I can find an insurance company that will give me about the same rate I'm getting now I dont think I'll be able to swing the payments on that car and a mortgage payment on 2 1/2 acres I bought in June.

I understand the insurance thing, but think of it this way:
I went on my own insurance right when i got my cars, and now I've got a much better rate than any other similar 22 year old because I've had my own insurance for 4+ years. No matter what, if you're leaving your parents plan to go on your own it will be expensive because you're a risk on your own.
So you could lose a bit of money now, but save it in the long run
and besides, that car is too good to not get for 50 dollars extra a month

Yeah, but the problem with my job is I get paid based on commission, if I got paid a regular salary or wage then I'd be willing to go through with it. Either way I think I'm gonna start paying my own insurance. I'm gonna look online tonight and see if I can find a company that will give me closer to the rate I'm getting now. Because with the rate Geico would be charging me it's more than I can afford.
