Default Camaro vs Cougar

Ok so I know this is an Fbody website but try to give your honest opinion

Which of these two cars should I look deeper into buying?

1996 Chevrolet Camaro
3.8L V6 RWD
200 HP stock
Weight is ~ 3400 lbs
Black
T-tops
Cloth interior

2000 Mercury Cougar
2.5L V6 FWD
165 HP stock
**Weight is only ~ 2800 lbs**
Red/Burgandy
Sunroof
Leather interior

Also what do you guys think would sound better on a V6, a Cherry Bomb Glasspack or a Cherry Bomb High Performance Muffler?

I'd go for the Camaro with mufflers, you don't want glasspacks. It's just like a fartcan for a domestic. I'm not too keen on those year cougars, now if it was a XR-7 or Eliminator that'd be another story

Another thing to consider is how many miles are on each car.

They both have about 80,000 miles.....the Cougar attracts me because the insuance is cheaper and it weighs about 600 lbs less.....that's 1/2 a second in the quarter

I'm in the same boat as Rocket as far as the appearance of that gen of Cougars, but I would probably pick it over the Camaro in this case. If you plan on building up the Cougar though look at how much parts cost first. If the aftermarket parts cost more for the Cougar then I'd go with the Camaro.
